so *ahem* i see these super exciting references to client side modding (CSM) on these latest two updates. is there some documentation available yet on how to take advantage of the these new methods, callback functions, features?

Re: [Windows] sfan5's builds: 32-bit & 64-bit, LevelDB, LuaJ

I'm wondering why the selection range (the distance from the player character at which a node can be selected) is shorter than the cherry 64-bit Minetest version on minetest.net. I can dig down 4 nodes from ground level with theirs but only 3 nodes with this version (for some reason, the Android version can dig down 5).

It makes farming more tedious as fields are usually setup in multiples of 7x7 squares, since that is what 1 water node can source. With this version, you can not harvest the full 7x7 square without moving from the center node as you can in the minetest.net version.

Can this be fixed?

There might have been some changes to that code in the meantime.
I suggest you report a bug on Github: here

Minetest 0.4.15-4d5ce84

by sfan5 » Thu May 25, 2017 20:37

Some libraries and the compiler (it's no longer 3 years old) were updated with this build.
As a result of that, the 32-bit builds support Direct3D now.

sfan5 - i'm using a windows computer and getting an error on this latest build:
"The program can't start because libgcc_s_seh-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

i downloaded this file from the internet to the minetest bin folder (and also tried into the windows system32 folder) but then get a slightly different error:
"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."

The Games folder is bare of all but the minimal game. It is okay, I copied games from the previous build!

Yeah, the 64-bit build had the wrong DLLs put into its folder.
I have uploaded a fixed build, just download the same file again.

The 32-bit build was also updated to include minetest_game.

The horrible, horrible price of maintaining windows software strikes again. Here we have a generous and rather brilliant programmer doing a labor of love and all that programmer hears is grief. We love you sfan5, thank you for all you do!
