On April 1st we should replace the official build with this one.

Can we have the source code bytecode? I want to work on this game a bit.

Re: the oldest builld of minetest i found
That's about the time I discovered the 1.0.0 version of the Java release of Minecraft. I couldn't get minetest to run so I paid $24 and went with Minecraft.
Now, seven years later, Microsoft is kicking the java version to the curb and since I've been running Linux from May of 1998 I went looking for a Minecraft alternative a couple of weeks ago. Found minetest. It stunned me with its improvements in beauty, speed and stability. And, with minetest, my CPU & GPU run 15-20C cooler at the same FPS. Don't know how it does that. ???
IMO, minetest 4.17.1 with the polygonia-256px texture pack matches and exceeds Minecraft in the creative mode. Furniture, appliances, house furnishings and similar modes give minetest builds a better and more realistic look than Minecraft, in which folks use stairs for chairs. :D minetest homes have driveways and garages with cars parked on them or in them! minetest mods offer chairs you can actually set in, realistic lamps, kitchen appliances, even waffles, and vehicles you can ride in or fly, and more.
And, it has my grandson's favorite block, er... node, TNT! :D
