Code: Select all

ERROR[Main]: Irrlicht: GLSL (> 2.x): failed to retrieve uniform information
ERROR[Main]: generate_shader(): failed to generate "default_shader", addHighLevelShaderMaterial failed.
Am I doing something wrong?

Intel driver bug: https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/10844
This is strange since Minetest version 5.3.0 shaders work without errors.
(I have the same problem on Minetest 5.4.1, windows 8.1)

I solved the problem failed to generate "default_shader" .
My laptop has an integrated NVIDIA graphics card, and the "run with GPU" option helped me.

Perhaps this information will be useful to someone

Thanks for this, Is there a way to get this on Ubuntu Hirsute? The dev PPA does not have a release file. How can I play this with shaders on Hirsute without having to play it through wine?

Linux is a bit different for various reasons, if you have a version not supported by the PPA I can suggest downloading one from the Gitlab-CI pipelines.
Click the three dots to the right of the topmost entry and choose "Download package:appimage-client artifact".
You can run the executable like any other.

Building on OpenBSD should be relatively painless like on any other Unix system, never used it myself though.

Nice, but it only casts shadows from sun, Can you make it possible to cast shadows from every light sources like lava and torches.

Speaking of shadows:

I wish the ecliptic would be inclined!
I am okay with using the screenshots in all my posts for the website of Minetest (http://minetest.net).

This shader was not created by Sfan5 but by Liso, here is what Liso had to say about it:
PolySaken wrote: Thu Jun 10, 2021 07:41
Let me clarify: will light sources ever cause objects to cast shadows?I get that they override shadows cast by the sun, but they don't cause shadows to form.
Liso wrote:Aps, ok. I got you now.

There is no short term plans to implement that. Mostly because, in order to do it, we need to make a shadow map (at least) pass for every light. And that is completely unfeasible with the current status of the engine.

Sorry.

Anyway, I'll keep your suggestion in mind for future improvements.

Well then, I found another problem: nodes have shading but objects don't. Mobs and other moving stuff looks dark.
