could you update the builds page with 5.6 builds? Id like to use the encode_png function.

Avast, my virus checker, really, really doesn't like this version.
libintl-8.dll, zlib1.dll, and another file that I cannot remember and now it blows up 7zip before it gets to where I can see it. All the versions of 6.0 I have downloaded are now inoperable. 5.x are still good. Avast has falsely accused files before, but I try to err on the side of caution.

You mean 5.6.0, right? There's no 6.0 version of Minetest.
There haven't been any significant changes that could cause this and I even uploaded yesterday's build to virtustotal.com and it came back clean.

Sorry, yes, your 5.6. And yes, in this case I suspect it is a false positive, but that is a game I don't generally play till i know more.

Worse yet, the information Avast gives on the virus is quite generic which is not always, but is often an indicator of a false positive. When they know, they try to brag and be the first to actually name a variant.

I really, need to find a Linux build that supports my ASUS TUFF A17 laptop. That will solve an amazing amount of issues.

I uploaded my download of your latest to virtustotal.com. It came up as clean. However, two of the virus checkers that are listed on virustotal.com came up with Win64:Evo-gen on the zlib1.dll so what virustotal.com says about AVG and Avast do not match with what AVG and Avast say. The Evo-gen is being evaluated by heuristic methods so it is still quite possible that this is a false positive, but two fresh and updated virus checkers identify this and a few other files in the update as being trojan related and likely to be gathering data.

Both of these antivirus companies compete on the top edge of total detection in testing. This means they are at the top for zero day management, but this also means they will be at the top for false positives. They both win at declaring, "The Sky is Falling," it is impossible to truly be ready for the sky falling, and if the sky is going to fall, they are good software to have just in case.

So I am not saying, "The Sky is Falling," but I am reporting what Chicken Little told me and for now, I am staying indoors.
