Re: Little, big house [idea]
Please take the technical proposal i wrote for this mod, and the description for that mod, and highlight the parallels and differences.
Again, doesn't look similar to me.

waht do you think about a mod or a feature where you can build a little house but inside (if you go in its bigger).

Give it something like this???
I know my English is bad.
Thats exactly what a pocket dimension is. Small space(just the door) goes into a larger space within it (Pocket dimension). Is that clear enough?taikedz wrote:Then compare those.

Re: Little, big house [idea]
Nobody was saying making a dimension in the target space. The link you point to offers to teleport to a world pre-populated and feature full. Not what was asked for. Ask is - can I build a small house, but have a large space "inside"
The only similar thing is that in the technical implementation, a teleporter would need to be used.
What you're linking to is more akin to Cave Worlds.

Re: Little, big house [idea]
It's actually larger (62000)...paramat wrote:Really nice idea.
Minetest worlds stop generating at 31000, but there's another 1500 nodes of unused world beyond that, lots of space for storing the interior.

A little more than half way down:
Near-infinite maps
With a 62000^3 block playing area, there's no running out of space. Yes, the world height is also near-infinite.

Re: Little, big house [idea]
We're talking about altitude coordinates which go from -31000 to 31000 approx.

Re: Little, big house [idea]
I had a start. It's nowhere near finished, but I finished the calculation mapping (x,z) to a (y) altitude

Re: Little, big house [idea]
Since Minetest is not a 4-dimensional space this is not possible without teleporting the user. The illusion could be made by building a small house and teleporting the user to a larger room when they enter the door (or by postprocessing a video *g*).Kosmos wrote:waht do you think about a mod or a feature where you can build a little house but inside (if you go in its bigger).
Since the teleport function is not seamless or fast the illusion would not be very good.
