Streetsmod digiline control

I want to make a workable road system in a city, but I can't make intersections with trafficlights because I have no experience with digilines. Streetsmod gives no help (The documentation is outdated). Could someone show me how to make a functional traffic intersection, complete with turn signals and crosswalk lights/buttons? I would like to know how every type of traffic light works.

Also, what is the digiline controllable matrix screen and how does it work? I think I know what it is, but I'm not certain. I have no way to find out because I can't use digilines.
