One Biom per Island

Hello, is it possible to have one type of Biom at each island?

So i have 5 far seperated big island each with a different Biom, and maybe additional some tiny island some kind like satelites around it? Can there be certain ressources (coal, iron, ...) each limeted to only one Island?
If possible how would i do this?

You could set the resources to only spawn in a specific node, and then only have that node generate in the specific biomes.

Could you be more specific? Which settings do i have to Change? And how do i set the size of the island?

I thought you already had the islands created via a mapgen. I don't know anything about writing mapgens. I think though if you had a mapgen doing this you could set the biomes in the mapgen and then do the set the resources to only spawn in the biomes that you set the islands to be in mapgen.

If you don't have a mapgen creating the islands I guess I'm not sure how you made them, or how you would set biomes for them.
