Advanced Crafting Table (for a mod)

I'm wanting to create an advanced crafting table for the mod that I'm working on with:

Hello everyone! Here is some more info on what we need help on and how this will work:
3x3 crafting slots are for normal craft recipes but this table will manly be used for tools, armor,etc.
arrow going to the one slot is of-course the output.
the 4 slots that are vertical are for i guess helping slots, i.e. lets say im crafting a steel pick so i put this items in the 3x3 grid but then the craft will not proceed because i need to fill in one of the 4 vertical slots with 3 leather strip, then it ill proceed. I hope this help everyone understand what me and GA and others need help with.
