it looks like minetest creates air on player login, on player position, which overrides protection and everything else. is there a way to change that? we don't care if players spawn buried in, they can dig themselves out :)
edit: actually, we are having trouble replicating... what we are talking about is when players log out and/or time out on ladders and ropes, and segments of rope or whatnot disappear. more info soon.

No that doesn't happen in the engine or in MTGame, probably a mod issue.

roger, we tracked it down to titanium mod, which does do that without fail, unless player equips titanium glasses; quick fix: set titanium_walking_light = false in config.
