Best way to generate apples on trees

Hi, I'm working on a game and I'm trying to make apples (main:apple_red) generate under apple tree leaves (main:leaves_apple). The apple trees are registered as a decoration and are being loaded from a schematic. First i tried registering an apple scatter ore but the apples were also generating on the upper portions of the leaves (obviously) which looked weird and unrealistic. What would be a good way to generate a random amount of apples in the bottom part of the leaves

Add the apples to the tree schematic as in MTGame? Add many and use a low probability for each, for a random looking result.
