How to use a texture with semi-transparent parts on entity?

Hello

I made a vehicle-entity, that uses a node with a .obj-model as visualization.

It has got a fin, where i want to use a semi transparent part of the texture.

But if i place this vehicle in minetest, i see onlo the opaque parts of the texture.the semi-transparent surfaces of the fin disappear.

How can i show semi transparent effects here?

Put use_texture_alpha = true in your entity properties.

They do, as of commit 812e3f7 (5.1.0, I believe).

With that said,

If you're on an older version of MT, you can simulate translucency by using a texture that has a fine pattern of transparent and non-transparent pixels. It won't look as good, but it's the only feasible workaround I'm aware of.
