How about when swords are used to attack other players, it also drains the usage bar?

Any ''item kit'' mods ?
In minecraft servers they have this thing with ''kits'' that offer you items for something .
For example u buy a kit and u get armoor and diamond stuff .
Is there a way to get this mechanic in minetest ?

What about, if some mod gives a command that will crash the game because it doesn't know what to do, it just ignores the command?

Mods don't crash because they don't know what to do, they crash because they did the wrong thing. If you let a broken mod keep running it could lead to data corruption and other unexpected behavior, so it's better to just crash to let the user know that something is broken.

Hi, a couple of kids asked me if it would be possible to have a "robot" that would be fed an item and then wander about looking for another one of those items. Once found, it would grab it and go back to the place where it was created.
Is there something like that already, or something I could try to build on? Does it make sense in the game? They even told me that the logic could be someting like a moving oven: they feed the original item and when it comes back then it gives back two (or many) of those items. They want it to collect wood, for example and ideally a trader would be the way to get it, via contract.

You're right hajo, using TenPlus's mobs_redo mod is possible in a simple way to make a ridable mob using the bicycle model. I have a need for the entire registered_nodes table dumped into a .lua or .txt file - but only after entering a world (ie. all mods are fully loaded, so all nodes are registered) - how would I go about accomplishing this?

Well, I only need the name of every registered node from all enabled mods, which is why I specified that.

I have a block that does this in my skytest mod for debugging
place it and right-click it and it tells you in game the number of registered items and makes an item text file in the world directory with the ids of all register things
if you cant be bothered to go looking through my sloppy code for the block I could pull it out and paste it here
you can modify it to be just registered nodes
