A GUI to place blocks on a 16x16 plane, player clicks a button and a block is placed on a selected position. This could work with the painting mod; export, import sprites and alternate between the canvas and physical world forms.

Some thing like optifine you know that minecraft mod that boosts fps by like 20% it would be nice.

So, Idea is to add add-on slots which can be filled by:
  • jetpack
  • leather bag(add new line in inventory)
  • aqualung
  • magic thing
  • etc.
And Choose-line to choose active line of inventory.

I have an idea I think would be really neat to see implemented. Instead of seeing the same type of terrain no matter how deep you are, you could see different types of layers.

For example:
layer 1: 0 through -200: Still the same as normal.
layer 2: -201 through -400: Stone is tougher to break, and caves tend to be larger.
layer 3: -401 through -500: Nothing :D (You would have to use sand or gravel to get down. Would also be a nice location to build a underground city.)
layer 4: -501 through -700: Has water lakes in caves.
layer 5: -701 through -800: Pure lava :O (You would have to use sand or gravel for instance to get through this layer!)
layer 6: -801 through -900: Contains rich ore deposits.
layer 7: -901 through -1200: Has giant pits.
layer 8: -1201 through -31000: Has stone that is tougher to break, caves, and has lava that can rise or spread if next to air. (this lava could be limited to rise only to the top of the layer its in)

You could also have resources be layer(s) specific:
diamonds: layers: 2,4,6,7
iron: layers: 1,2,4,6,7
emeralds: layer: 6

As you get deeper you could discover better resources to build better tools to dig the tougher stone quicker.

Note: The layers don't have to be like I stated, and it would be nice to see even more layer types :). This would be neat to see added as another game type (like minetest, build, survival). We could call it "Dig Dug", "Miner", or something else.

I have an idea that comes from minecraft. I tried to use the spawn egg lua file and alter some of the textures and the code to make them but no luck.
Here is my idea. A giant or a clan of giants. They act like the spawn eggs creatures do. But with the twist that there programig makes them one of the following.
Gentle roaming
Gentle building (they build random structures to suite there needs.
Gentle farmers (they make fields and harvest crops)
Agressive guards.
Agressive destructive

The agressive destructive ones come along and destroy anything your working on.

You would need to make the giants at least 3 full grown trees tall. And spawn from a portal point on the map. However there spawn likely hood would need to be set to rare.

Although I am not sure how well a giant would work in minetest (especially when it comes to fighting one, I tinkered with giants at one point, and could not implement them the best), I really like the idea of NPCs that build random structures, farm, and are aggressive guards (Maybe there could be a file of saved buildings that the NPC could choose to randomly build).

However, I would not like the aggressive destructive state in a casual game, but in a game were an onslaught of enemies are coming might be neat. For instance if you and a couple other players built a fortress, and enemies came at night and tried to break into your fortress to get you.

Lets torches burn down. They simply disappear after some time (1 day?).

Combined with mobs, it should increase the difficulty, since there is no eternally save haven anymore.

By default, they are set to burn out after 20 minutes (real time); you can change that at the top of init.lua (TORCH_TIMEOUT).

please please please. It is on my to do list for mini test but that will take me at least a day to do aka you might get it in about a month after the other important stuff. Unless someone else codes it.

I wish there was other rare things than nyan cats to find, because once you find one it is less fun to find more. I'm not sure what, though.

EDIT: I was wondering, do all nyan cats have the same amount of rainbows? What is the average amount of nyan cats in a map?

EDIT 2: It would be cool if nyan cats made the nyan cat music and the rainbows made light, because then they would be easier to find, and you could use the nyan cat to make music in places.

I need a mod that will allow me to place a block of material from the creative inventory and will then simply build a modular section.

Notes. I need this mod to be light weight. No heavy programming. Many mods I use clog the system when they run.

I need this mod to build the modular section. By the following coordinated Or specs
On each face. of the square section.
On the first row. 9 across
on the next row up. 2 in then a gap of 2 then 1 then a gap of 2, then 2
on the next row up. 2 in then a gap of 2 then 1 then a gap of 2, then 2
On the next row up. 9 across
And finally on the last row up. 9 across.

I then need the mod to do this on all four sides of the box. So that when finished there is a
modular section built.
I can input windows, torches and cut doors and lay floors my self onto this modular skeleton.

I am going to try and build this mod myself from a preexisting mod. But please work on this.
It should be a relatively simple mod.

Here is the screen shot to show what I mean.
