installing subgames
I have linux mint, Qiana, and I barely know anything XD well, at least when it comes to games. How the hell do I install subgames? For instance, I have "Big Freaking Dig" and the only tutorials I see are for Windows and whatnot. Can someone give me the dummy version? Or at least dumb it down a little? Or, even better, tell me where to find out stuff about linux? Thanks

Re: installing subgames
If you installed from a package manager, you'll find the minetest content at ~/.minetest/ (eg: /home/user/.minetest/)
Extract bfd into the games folder, so you should see something like /home/user/.minetest/games/bigfreakingdig/game.conf

Re: installing subgames
As I said, extract it into /home/user/.minetest/games/ so that there is a file at /home/user/.minetest/games/bigfreakingdig/game.conf
Re: installing subgames
in your home folder (the one with your name) there is a hidden folder named ".minetest".
(click "view", "show hidden files" to make it visible.)
inside that minetest folder there should be a folder named "games".
if not, just create one. then put the folder you extracted from the subgame into that games folder.
sometimes the extracted folders have "-master" at the end of their name. remove it and it should work.

Re: installing subgames
I did that, however, now it says "ERROR: ModError: Failed to load and run
/home/gesseppi(name)/.minetest/games/big freaking dig/mods/mapgen/init.lua"
help

Re: installing subgames
that is an error in the subgame, it's not your fault.
check if the BFD subgame has a readme file that explains what to do.
if not, post this in the BFD thread and wait for the developer to fix it.
otherwise you have to use a different subgame.
