So, last night, I decided to place my subgame (which is more just for personal use right now, not sure if I will ever post it as a subgame) in my usr/share/minetest/games directory, rather than home/.minetest/games.
It works fine, and I like this setup better for a couple of reason, which probably are not such a big deal.
In any case my question is this...
I don't see any reason this should create any problems..., am I missing something?
I am unsure if, for instance, when a new release comes out, and I update, will I need to back up this game? or relocate it before updating and then add it back in after?
Is this something which is normally done in the first place and I simply misunderstood somehow, or something? : /
It just seems to have a couple of minor benefits over having it in home/.minetest/games, at least in my mind anyway. :P

Re: subgame directory (a dumb question?)
In short, no to all your questions. Putting it there is fine, the only real difference is that the subgame becomes available for all users.
