Sharpening textures with imagemagik

by q9c9p » Mon Mar 30, 2015 18:53

Hello,

I actually think that the default textures are a little blurry so I tried to sharpen them all with a bash loop and convert from imagemagik.

By mistake ( while building the code of minetest ) I wiped everything so I will have to do it again.

Could anybody try something like convert image.png -sharpen 0x3 sharpened.png and tell me what you think?

In my repo I also removed the pvp icon and replaced with a image made with the default iron sword "doubled and mirrored" in gimp. The default sword image for the server list to me look done very superficially, I was actually "shoked" that it was a different draw than the default iron sword.

Pardon me that I don't have anything to show, doing rm -Rf . late at night... :D

Are you sure you didn't just enable bilinear/trilinear filtering by mistake? This is usually what makes textures blurry.

PS: in development versions, this is no longer the case, 16² textures are automatically upscaled when using texture filtering.
