Real Bad Angel Etc had this idea on another site just need ideas on a safe way to implement it without crashing

This has already been mentioned and completed, you just have to wait for the next release.

The minimap can be controlled server-side, so like PC players you'll be only able to use it if the minimap is enabled on the server, otherwise no.
