specific abilities and cooperation...

Hi all,

was wondering if there are some (futur) plans for differents "kind" (or class ?) of players ?

you know : magicians, soldiers, miners, etc...

with specifics abilities for each of them...

imagine : only a magician would be able to fly and to teleport somebody to him...

it would lead to cooperation with miners who needs to reach deep caves for some Mese...

only a "high level" miner would be able to extract Mese, etc..

and some specifics crafts for the differents sorts of players would lead to some trading....

I am only dreaming or.... ? :-D

the magic stuff was just a way to explain my idea ;-)

up to the devs to chose what kind of universe they want for the game.

this was just to emphasize the idea of specifics abilities that lead to some collaboration...

Having levels and character classes is a step towards excluding casual gamers. I don't have enough spare time to do lots of grinding before I can build the good items. Already while the new blocks are nice and all they add complexity to the game. Sooner or later it might be too complicated for new players to just log in and have some fun building stuff.

Minetest,Minetest if nearly perfect for me now.Only few more things like doors with locks and something about griefing.

Totally agree with Wolfgang.More stuff,more difficult for new players.

hmm maybe a way to enhance some difficulty would be to create servers for experienced players and some for new players just pitching ideas

Hum , I think you want to include a kind of progression game-play , like progressive difficulty . Maybe it's possible by slow down player progression in the map by few means . For instance , a player mines directly to the deeps of the map , we can imagine that there is multiple block of each type , with a different resistance . So , when the miner continue to digs-down , he has more chance to encounter block that are more solid . I mean , some kind of layer that divide the map . More a player digs-down and more he's slowed down by the solidity of the blocks . Of course this is just an example , we can make lots of other progression ways (like progressive monster difficulty or random event that slow down player like earth quake ...) .
