Could it be, that creating water sources is broken?
i thought that when placing 2 water sources diagonally in a 4x4 box should create a small endless source because the other two places are converted to sources too, so you can easily get one and it should be replenished automatically?
Sorry, i catched RIVER WATER instead of normal water.
Normal water works like intendet.

Sorry, i catched RIVER WATER instead of normal water.
Normal water works like intendet.

why Nether Portal is generated not in the caves of Nether, but aside? How do portals with protection mod behave, the portal will damage the protected building?

Nether portal generation isn't that great so far. They might or might not end up in the big cave, there's a bit of randomness involved.

MineClone 2 brutally ignores all forms of protection, this stuff just isn't implemented yet.

Please give version number and list of mods.
Door bug
Not a bug, but a missing feature. Stilll, I agree double doors need to be done, I know the current behaviour is ugly.

0.41.2 released!

@markodon! Thanks! With your logfile I was able to hunt down the bug and (hopefully) fixed it. Thanks a lot for this, this bug report was quite important (well, it's a crash, duh! :D). It was also a really stupid bug to have. xD

Version 0.41.2 is now released!

Changelog:
  • Fix possible crash when using name tag on mob

Regarding nether portals; aren't they supposed to translate the nether coordinates x8 on the overworld?

- i Just built a portal in the overworld; coords (3, 62, 564), which created a portal in nether at (3, -28981, 564).
Then i moved in nether to (3, -28981, 685) and built a portal there.
When i teleport back to the overworld using this portal, i go to (3, -12, 685).

1. i expected to end up at the same height since i did not move up or down
2. instead of the expected 4512 coordinate, i did only travel "overworld distance" of the 120 blocks the portals where apart in nether.

Yes, Nether-to-Overworld ratio is currently 1:1. This is a missing feature, sorry.

Of course the ratio is supposed to be different. I'm not sure if I will go with 1:8 (because the world size of ca. 63000³ might be a problem).

How to install new release update without deleting world? I have many players i don't want to loose them.

Just reinstall MCL2 and boot up your world, no reason to delete it.

Yes. You do not need to delete the world. If you re-install MineClone 2, just make sure the game folder has the same name as before.
E.g. if the game folder was named “mineclone2” before, use the same name for the new install as well.
Hint: Each world remembers to which game it belongs to. In the file “world.mt” in the world directory, the line “gameid” says which game to use (by its folder name).


If you do not trust Minetest or MineClone 2 to not destroy your world, you can backup your world before you update.

Hey, quick heads up, but the snowman's head texture is wrong.
Lines 39 & 44 need to swapped; in the "MineClone2/mods/ENTITIES/mobs_mc/snowman.lua" file.

You need to increase the stepheight attribute of the player object from a mod. I’ve written the code for it but it’s not available to me at this time. I know that v-rob’s fork Voxelgarden II does the same thing, look here.
