Use poshud mod for that, no need for it in a base game.

Uhh, fairly certain world edit is already compatible, you just need to learn the chatcommands instead of using the gui.

hi, I am new here and loving the game.
I just wanted to confirm that the foxes have the floating head problem Midnight pointed out, ask about a thing I have been seeing with all the mobs - they have a trail of small dirt blocks floating over most of their heads, all except the sheep and cows (i think) is there a way I can turn this off? - and finally ask about a thing I notices when I went from the old version of minetest to the new version, suddenly mineclone 5 didnt have the skin customization that the previous one had and I could only choose between a guy character and a girl, so I copied the mineclone 5 directory from the old one and renamed it and put it in the games directory of my new one, which worked a treat... Is this something you know happens? and if so will I get updates to the game?

Thank you again for this game, I have a minecraft account, but I am leaving that proprietary junk and trying to move on to foss because of the new eye of sauron 'update' they have sullied the game with. So thank you for giving a viable alternative.
If you would like me to help with textures and music, I can do both and would happily contribute to this and mineclone 2.

There’s a glitch where the rabbit’s head detaches from the rest of its body and floats. It’s kinda disturbing

Im on minetest 5.6.0 and i found that it has reverted to an ancient version of mcl5 and also the game is not registered in the cdb ingame page. Is there a way to fix this?

Just a warm fuzzy "Thanks" to the team <3

Our family finds survival mode very playable, up to enchanting diamond items. We've never played MC, but we have seen media of others playing it, so it seems intuitive. The achievements make it seem like we're making progress. (Can't speak to end game things yet).

The only questions we've had is about finding resources (which I guess is worldgen, saddles rarer than lapis!) and how to make certain recipes. We can see interesting blocks and items when playing creative, but I guess item help database is WIP with some missing items. Also in survival it can be unclear how an item or block would unlock eventually. (For example, polished stone slab unlocks the armor rack.) Perhaps our experiences--and, I admit, our naivety--could help fill in holes in the database. It would also be nice if there was help or "how to" with enchanting.

Regardless, we have had many moments of laughter and fun, so thanks!

The obsidian boat still sinks when you put it in water. It also does that in Mineclone 2.

some things like fishing rod, bow, ... are missing from crafting book

use the minecraft wiki. watch pixlriffs' guide. to find recipe and learn enchanting

some questions will remain unanswered like 'how to hold a tool with the offhand'

If you want to see all the crafting recipies so that you can grind for the resources go to settings : games: mineclone5: and disable the progressive crafting recipies setting. To enchant just check youtube for minecraft enchanting . Its the same.

Will not occur until dual wielding comes in the minetest engine...hopefully in the 5.7.0 release.

That will change the weather to clear. Or you can sleep through the thunder.

I installed minetest-server 5.6.1 with mineclone 5 on Debian bookworm.
Playing works fine with Minetest 5.6.1 clients in the local network.

Only the fly mode is doing weird things.
When I press space, I start to rise, but every few seconds I fall back to the ground (no matter if I keep pressing space or not).

The same works fine when playing locally (no server).

Is this a known problem?
Is there a known solution?

Probably anti-cheat. I dont know if it ever got fixed to not affect players with fly privs.

Hi,

First of all: my sincere gratitude to the creators and modders behind MineClone 5 (and Minetest, obviously)!

I have a few questions:
  1. I'd like to change the volume of the zombie 'war_cry' (/mobs_mc_zombie_growl) sound, as it is much too loud. I checked the zombie.lua file, but the sounds are presented as a list and I'm not sure I can change the 'gain' value there for specific sounds. Here I'm assuming the 'gain' value represents volume.
  2. Speaking of sounds: the sources of the sounds, or their directions, always seem off: is there something I can do to improve those?
  3. As mentioned before, and I think for a long time already (it is likely a default Minetest problem): why do mobs keep ending up in water? Currently there are a bunch of wolves bouncing along the water surface. It has certainly been worse, when years ago in an older world there were entire herds floating around my island base—now it's only a slight nuisance. Something I can do myself to improve that behaviour? A temporary solution could be giving them water_damage, simulating drowning, but avoiding water altogether would make land animals more convincing.
  4. I'd really like the (abandoned) dwarves mob (mob_dwarves) to function alongside MC5. Is that viable? Does that mod require functions that are not part of the MC5 mod list?

I noticed MineClone 5 is not listed on ContentDB anymore, whats the word with this? I saw on an alternative forum that MC5 is abandoned.
