SURVIVETEST (WIP) :

What is SURVIVETEST?


"Survivetest " is a modpack based on the "Minetest game", with various mods made by the community. much simpler proposal, and only essential mods for a good game are added, some things are being adapted, leaving room for you to add more mods of your own.

In the beginning it was a modpack called "Minetest Adventures" that I made to not have to, select, search and install the same mods every time I went to create a new world, and some friends asked me to share it..

Why be like game?

It's much easier and simpler to customize, some things can only be configured in games, updating mods,textures and among other things are much simpler, so don't consider survivetest a "subgame", neither "extended Minetest" ,nor a "soup of mods ", and many things I can't solve because the mods are made by the community and so the mods can have their problems that only their developers can fix..

I'm not a programmer, I know the basics of programming in Lua, but I wanted to have something to use as a base to create "Minetest" content, because most subgames "mod soup", are full of random mods, which sometimes you don't even use it that much, or it interferes with the creation of different worlds, or it makes it heavier, or conflicts with other mods ..

First post of mine about "survivetest", previous versions weren't that important.
But I did a few things on this one:

Survivetest 0.4

The main changes in this version:

1 - Ores redistributed and found from:

Coal = 0
Tin and Copper = -100
iron = -150
Gold = - 200
Month = - 350
Diamond = - 500

2 - Dungeon Master (Boss)
- Now spawns from -600
- Deals 14 damage

3 - Mese Monster, now spawns from -350...

4 - The "3D Armor Flyswim" mod has been temporarily removed!

5 - Added the mods:

Headanim ( By:LandarVargan )
Visible Sneak( By:niwla23 )

6 - Compatibility of "Crops" mod with "HungerNG"

7 - Achievement "Place 1000 ladders wood", for "Place 500 ladders wood" ...

I'll wait some more tests and prepare version 0.5 the main one..
Remembering that this is still a base, and I didn't add new ideas, I'll do it little by little!!!

One more version , this one has some changes , and added some more things :

Changes :

- Ghost, now drops "Strings"
- Potatoes, can be bakeds.. ( Crops )
- Baked potatoes ( satiates = 2.0 ) ( Crops )
- Baked corn (satiates = 2.0) ( Crops )

Added:

- Advanced Tooltips ( By:geral 3214 )
- Added "Character anim" ( By:LMD ) , in place of "Headanim"...
- Emotes, 4 new fun commands:

Survivetest 0.4.2

Dungeon Master:
- 50 more HP
- More chance to spawn
- Spawns in "dungeons", which makes more sense..
- Animation when "die" added
- Sound when "die" added
- Now drops "Tofรฉu" when it dies


Mimic:
- Chest sound when attacking

Ghost:
- Now drops "Ghost fragment", used in the "Death Compass" recipe

Added:
- PosHud( By:orwell )
- NextGen Bows (By: StarNinjas)
- Death Compass (By: FaceDeer)


If there is no problem, the next update will be 0.5 !!!

This release had a greater focus on adding a new "Agriculture" to the "Survivetest"...

Changes :
- Small texture change from "Dungeon Master" ..
- "Diamond Block" harder to drop..
- Nerf looting from settlements.

Added and removed:
- Removed "Crops" ..
- Added "Dfarm", simple farming made to survivetest..
- Bonemeal (By: TenPlus1)..

- Nerf on monsters (It was very difficult for those who play on android)
- "Fly" privilege in "Creative" mod

Hi duckgo, thanks for sharing your "mod soup" subgame, I enjoying it!

The mods you select are the same I usually use but with your custom add ons,

I assume you will be focused on other issues but I noticed that when you eat fishes (from fishing mod) only restores health and not restores the hungry

Waiting for new updates :)

I'm glad you're enjoying it.. yes, I noticed this problem, it happens because the fish mod doesn't support "hunger ng" but I'll be adding it.. Cakes need to be added too, all this will be correct in the next version , thanks for letting me know \O/

A little news, maybe some will like it..
By completing some achievements in the game, you get a prize..
These below are decorative dolls you get by completing level 3 achievements, an idea inspired by "Tibia".
New achievements with more levels and differents prizes will be added in the future.
You are not required to make achievements or kill Boss, to play, they are just extra objectives for the subgame..
New suggestions for achievements and awards are welcome ;)

Been playing a bit and I must say it's nice to have a mostly consistent texture stye for a change (the items from the animal mod stand out atm).
The unique monsters are nice. The first time I saw a dirtmonster? I was very supprised (In a good way.)
Thank you for putting the ores at a higher level. I have no idea why anybody ever thought putting them a 1000 nodes deep is a good idea in a game which doesn't offer any travel options by default. You literally spent minutes just holding space-bar to get out again.

Some issues I noticed:
The crafting guide formspec is messed up.

Any reason for this mod in particular? Asking because it can't do forward crafting (looking up what an item can be turned into).
The crafting guide from MTG is well featured, and if I may be so bold as to plug my own work there are other mods which provide automatic crafting. Fact Craft
... which you are apparently already aware of.

The portableboxes formspec is for some reason smaller then all other formspecs?
The flowing water animation seem to be very fast.
The lantern texture resolution is lower then that of other textures.

That's all I have noticed so far.

Edit:
It is way too easy to kill yourself using the glider. If you don't start of just right you immediately get massive damage from colliding with the ground you are standing on.

Yes, there is still a lot to improve, and I realized after all this, I need textures for some "mobs" stuff...

- The "guide" mod was added because it has a simple option to create an item in the android version, I never learned to separate items of the same type, I think some new players have this difficulty, and this text out of place is really ugly..
- The "portableboxes" I didn't create, a friend did this work, and I don't know why he put the smaller formspec, even so, I added the mod because it's very useful, and the naming option is very cool: /
- On the water, to make it seem slower, I should repeat some frames I think, I'll take some time to see it better :)
- The lantern when I made it, it was well before survivetest, it didn't receive a texture even closer to the texture added to the game, maybe I should have left the minetest default texture, I've been thinking about it :(
- I know the "Fast Craft" mod, and it was added in the test, I love this mod.. but when I made a recipe for an item, I was not shown the achievement, and I think some recipes I didn't find, I will test again, I want him in the game too :D
- - The glider, really with high speed you take a lot of damage in the fall.. I'll see if I can improve this, or find some solution for it :)

I'll try to improve all this, I'm grateful for letting me know, I hope I can make survivetest better, although I have a lot to learn, thanks :)

Huh. Didn't think of that, but my mod completely bypasses the default crafting system, so the awards mod has no clue when it's used. I will look into it later today and see if I can add support.
I suppose this also explains why after several hours of play I still only have one achievement.

Yeah, the naming option is very useful. In fact it just so happens that I made a mod yesterday so I can rename normal chests. :D

Some more things I noticed while playing:

Though I know for a fact that light is a bit broken in the current version, so it might not be your fault.

The craft guide mod sometimes incorrectly refreshes the current inventory formspec, even though it shouldn't.
The player collision box is wired. It's much larger into the X+ direction than in any other and a little shorter into the X- direction then it should be. (when you sneak on a node towards the east and stop sneaking you fall down instead of standing on the ledge)
The steel shovel texture has an asymmetrical pixel. Though that may be intentional?

Not exactly a bug, but there is a lot of warnings in the console, making it hard to spot important information.

Lastly the quartz mod has an error in it's recipe definitions which doesn't cause any issues with the default crafting system, but causes fast_craft to crash.
Specifically two of it's recipes contain additional quotes that shouldn't be there.

My time is very short, but I can do some things hehe'

- Slower "Water" animation
- Stone Monster", no longer glows in the dark with shaders disabled
- Shovel texture (fixed)
- Some recipes from "Quartz" mod (Fixed)
- Visible Sneak (fixed collision box)

Added :
- Texture for the "Lantern"
- Textures for "mobs" items
- Fast Craft (By: Skamiz Kazzarch)

Removed:

I liked the updates, thank you!

I have two little issues, when you have time:

-When you place a wool block, this still in you hand, then you can place infinite wool blocks with only one...
-I'm not able to unlock Sharper award, I made 5 steel swords and nothing, and I tryed it with new Fast Craft functin, but notking..

1) The smoke signal mod is at fault, since it overrides the wools 'on_place', but doesn't return the decremented itemstack. Already opened a github issue for that.
2) The achievement is broken. It looks for 'deafult:sword_steel' instead of 'default:sword_steel'.

This weekend I've been changing the schemes of the "settlements", making them simpler, and I think it looks cool that way, it matches more with any biome.. But I don't know if you guys will approve the idea ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜
