Hello everyone!
This game contains only a few blocks... but it is still fun to play!
The aim of this game is to have the realy basic gameplay of this genre. It has the same name as the default minimal development version, but I think nobody uses it so you can override it with this game.
Blocks & items:
  • dirt
  • dirt with grass
  • sand
  • gravel
  • tree
  • wood
  • leaves
  • stick
  • sapling
  • apple
  • stone
  • cobble
  • coal
  • iron
  • mese
  • glass
  • water
  • lava
  • ladder
  • torch
  • chest
  • furnace
  • wooden, stone, steel and mese pick
  • stone and steel axe
  • stone and steel shovel
There are no falling or decaying blocks.

PilzAdam, how does this game differs from the minimal minetest game that comes with the source? Or is it the same thing?

It has even less nodes than the minimal development test.

If this is minimal, why isnt it minimal for minimal, like only having dirt?

Because that minimal is not this minimal, which is just as much minimal as the minimal amount of minimal you are talking about.

Don't do that to my brain DX

Reminds me of 0.2 without mobs and clay. Hmm... I like it.

The shortname “minimal” is already taken by Minimal Development Test, a preinstalled subgame. When I install your subgame without renaming the folder, the Minimal Development Test can’t be selected anymore.
I kindly request you to change the short name to something else than “minimal”. (Perhaps “minimal2” or “pilz_minimal”?)

Have you read the first post? Your comment suggests that you didn't.

Just because you suggest to overwrite a game included in the Minetest download doesn't make it a good idea. I think Wuzzy's request is correct. What if someone tries your game and decides to return to the "other" minimal game? Do you provide a rollback function?

Oh, then I probably got Wuzzy's post wrong. It seemed like he thought that I wasn't aware of this.

Why would anyone use the "Minimal development test" in a productive environment?

Minimal minimal minimal minimal minimal ect in minimalism

This minimal is quite minimal to the original minimal, but not as minimal. We need more minimalism.
Maybe no water and lava? Or maybe exclude the mese too.

Then this minimal will be as minimal or more minimal than the original minimal, and that's the minimum I need.

But alas, the minimum amount of energy minimally exerted to minimally install this minimum interferes with the minimally original minimal, so I minimally agreed with what Wuzzy said, and I think it should be easy to minutely change the name, so I can minimally play both minimals, which is the minimum amount of minimal I need.

But then again, as soon as I see the very complex water, it becomes way to confusingly complex for me! I think the minimum you should do is minimally remove all liquids from the minimal so that it minimally differs from the other minimal.

I had too much fun writing this, and I don't plan to stop.

So yes, that was my minimum request for the minimum thing this minimum needs to be the ultimate minimum that we are all referring minimally to.
Minimal thanks minimally.

for a very minimal game, also limit the size to 256x256x256 you don't need that huge space of minetest to build anything else than a hut.

O.o WHAT 256x256x256 !?! ... 2^24 ... 16777216 BLOCKS !??! ... way to huge
limit the size to ONE chunk !
16x16x16 nodes ;)

I meant blocks... not nodes... ;-)

The difference between this and the old devtest [minimal] is that this is technically a full game rather than a development test. You can make seven tools by mining ore generated in the ground rather than making a debug one from a debug material obtained from a debug node in a debug game.
