Hi!
So i've had minetest for a while and I enjoy it a lot. Recently, I loaded up my favorite world and started playing in it. A couple minutes in the entire screen (within the game) went grey/black and I couldn't see a thing! I could see my pickaxe and toolbar and health. I can even open my inventory, but I can see anything! (I attached a picture)
I am running Linux Mint and minetest 0.4.12 if that helps.
Thanks in advance!
Black World

Re: Black World
You are at -2230. check if you can dig and place a torch first.
This usually happends on servers. On servers you can solve for some time if you delete "cache" folder that is on your minetest directory.

Re: Black World
Did you get any errors in the debug file?
I got this one today with the same effects you describe:
"ERROR[ServerThread]: ERROR: An unhandled exception occurred: createSector(): pos. over limit"
It happened when I teleported a ridiculous distance away, trying to find oceans;
And everything went blackish, so teleported back to spawn and no change.
So I restarted the game and everything was still black.
I had forgotten about testing the new map_generation_limit setting in the minetest.config.
I deleted the setting and restarted and everything was back to normal.
I am not really sure if this actually solved the problem
or if it even has anything to do with it all.

Re: Black World
