Entity attachment and player size.

by blert2112 » Post

If I attach a player to an entity (let's say riding a dragon) the player is made huge because the dragon visual_size is up-sized by 3. I did a quick search in the source but didn't find where I can fix this (granted, my C skillz are not real good). The player should not be resized when attached to something. Anybody know of a work-around or the steps needed to make the model the correct size from within Blender?

I know this is an old topic, but this can be fixed (though it is tricky work) by editing the mesh and armature in EDIT mode of blender the process is something like this:
1. You will want to WRITE DOWN how the mesh and armature has been scaled in OBJECT MODE.
2. Shift C to set the cursor at 0,0,0 and Make sure animation is NOT being recorded
3. Make sure the origins of both mesh and armature are at 0,0,0 in OBJECT mode
4. In OBJECT MODE scale the armature to 1,1,1. Scale the mesh to 1,1,1.
5. In Edit mode, scale the mesh to the values you previously wrote down. Then use EDIT mode on the armature and scale to the values you wrote down.
6. It's VERY likely that the animations will have to be adjusted or redone :P
