How do I use /set command?

Hi, I tried "/set protector_radius 5", but it still says 3 in my config file. (3 is what I had set it to manually earlier) Am I doing it right? Thanks in advance.

2 years later: the settings are stored in ram (in the c++ global `g_settings`) but is only written to disk when `minetest.save_settings` is called in lua or until the minetest window is closed.

Try /set timespeed 0 and see if sn stops.. then you know if ypu can writr t file. Then make sure protector radiusflag is in conf. Like abve note mtmustbe off to save newparam.

I believe that maikerumine is trying to say, "Try 'set -n time_speed 0' and see if the sun stops. Then you know if you can write to the file. Then make sure protector radius flag is in the config file. Like above, note it must be off to save a new param."

Okay, I feel like I do not have write access to the file. I tried /set -n time_speed 0, but when I do /set time_speed, it says time_speed = 72 >:(

Don't use -n when you are overwriting a setting. You might have to restart the game to make the change too

I don't know what to do can someone help me when I download a mod I put it in the mods file thing and I go on minetest and enable it and when I go on the world I made it says
failed to load and run script from LOL I cant type more.
In the end of it is says Check debug.txt for details.
So can someone help?
