Maybe increase max_objects_per_block in minetest.conf?

# Maximum number of statically stored objects in a block.
# type: int
max_objects_per_block = 64

you can change this value higher for more objects before you get warning.

Yes and change 64 to higher number like 100 or so

It may be almost six months after the last post in this thread, however, I have been encountering the same errors in my Minetest singleplayer game, version 0.4.16. I think it may be due to a recent mod I had installed, Liquid Uprooting; Liquid Erosion, but the location where the errors appear in the game are literally in the middle of an ocean, where the mod shouldn't take affect. What could be the problem?

The error message is probably referring to a mapblock. So you will need to multiply the vector by 16 to find the actual offset from the world origin (since mapblocks are units of 16).

I have this same error showing in the chat

Code: Select all

ERROR[Server]: suspiciously large amount of objects detected: 121 in (17,1,52); removing all of them.
They usually comes in bunches, filling the chat, which is very annoying
They start showing only when I'm in a specific area (around my home), they won't show when I'm far away from this area.

First, I thought it was linked with "Storage Drawers" mod, because always happens when I'm close to my storage room that uses those storage drawers, but looks like it's not...

I went to the location coordinates mentioned (17,1,52), where I found nothing but air and water... I built a 3x3 cube of dirt around this specific location, the message still showing

I tried to add the following line in minetest.conf :

Code: Select all

max_objects_per_block = 256
But makes no difference

I tried to run /clearobjects , which had a disastrous result in my world, removing all stored objects in the drawers (hopefully, it was just a test copy of the world), and the message still showing

Making a search about this problem linked me to this actual post, and :
- https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/161 , where there's a link to a PR, but the link is dead
- viewtopic.php?t=22882
- viewtopic.php?t=4192

But I have not the knowledge to understand a single word about all this :-(

BTW, I couldn't figure out any "problems" while playing, only this message showing up

Someone have the solution to get rid of this error ?

This is a MapBlock,
the real coordinates are *16 each of them, mean (272-287),(16-31),(832-847)

Oooook !! Thank you for that info (how could I guess ?)

So, I went to those new coordinates, and this MapBlock is the one that contains my storage room where I use Storage Drawers !

Well, I go back to the concerned mod thread
Anyone who experience the same issue AND have Storage Drawers, please come over to see if we found the solution : viewtopic.php?p=393246#p393246

Thx Festus

My Admin Toolbox mod can help with debugging log messages that output mapblock positions like this. Just enter the command /block 17,1,52 into chat, and you will be teleported to the center of the corresponding mapblock, and the boundaries of the mapblock will be displayed as a grid of 16x16x16 nodes.

You might also find my Advanced Rangefinder mod useful. It can find all entities within a given radius (support for areas will be added soon). Just enter the command /finder objects sphere 16 {} nil nil nil into chat, and a form will open on the right-hand side of the screen listing all entities within 16 meters.

Of course, if you're really concerned about which mapblocks might contain an excessive number of objects, then you could give my RocketLib Toolkit a try. It allows for a much lower-level analysis of the map database via custom Lua command-line scripts. Here's a script that outputs the positions of all mapblocks containing 100 or more statically saved objects.

Code: Select all

local maplib = require "maplib"
local map_db = MapDatabase( "/home/minetest/worlds/world/map.sqlite", false )

for index, block in map_db.iterate( ) do
        local count = 0
        for i, v in ipairs( block.object_list ) do
                count = count + 1
        end
        if count >= 100 then
                print( string.format( "%d static objects in mapblock (%s)",
                        count, maplib.pos_to_string( maplib.decode_pos( index ) )
                ) )
        end
end
Note that you will need to edit the path to your map database on line 2 accordingly.

Well, I haven't tried them because I found the solution, which is :

But makes no difference
But unlike me, be careful to don't make a stupid typing error, and it should be good :-)

Re: suspiciously large amount of objects detected

Possibile solutions:

i prefeer do not use max object amount per block command

Destroying objects is very healthy than increasing max object amount (Too much object can make issues like lag)

Find where is the objects via coordinates.

example:

if it says "suspiciously large amount of objects detected. (X objects) in (X,Y,Z)"

you must use this formula:
16 * X (same thing for the Y and Z) (Like on the Fetus1985's post)

if it didn't works, use /clearobjects (Backup world before using command).

suspiciously large amount of objects detected

depends on your mods, and gamer:

when gamer mine dirty, mean full inventory and let the cobblestone most just fall down, in one mining set near 5.000 Items can cycle there on the floor (better collect and delete in Inventory when a 99 stack is full - gamer work)

as of pipeworks
when gamer use single injector instead of stack, the number can be 99-times higher
when gamer build tubes without security or overflow check, a lot of items can stuck before a unit (mashine, store chest, autocrafter) and cause items floating
and more options

mobs:
I let them die faster in sunlight ... reducing also

all this things
Human has no future (climate change)
If urgend, you find me in Roblox (as CNXThomas)
