Problem of my map.

by Andrey01 » Post

I had my creative server before and i decided all data stored in worlds directory to upload to GitHub for saving. And my Minetest Game is on some reason deleted. But i downloaded my map stored on Github and installed. Then i needed to download all mods afresh. Some mods i`ve removed and added new ones: ponti, nodeu, summer, gold_and_gem, bbq, ambience, mpd, jukebox and new version of streets 2.0. And after loading of my map for checking i was very upset. I teleported to that position where are being my palace, buildings, roads... But it nothing was! There is ALREADY other generation of the map on this place! And i thought the map somehow regenerated itself. But i nothing changed! If somebody knows why it is so, say why please.

Still question: what the file are all changes saved in? For example, when player digs or set blocks, that is he changes the map.

Read in the developer-wiki about some background information:
* http://dev.minetest.net/Core_Architecture
* http://dev.minetest.net/Terminology

Most of what you are looking for is in the world_format.txt file in the doc folder, at least that is where it is at in a windows build...

Short answer is map.sqlite holds all of the map data and map_meta.txt hold the mapgen parameters and world settings. I suspect from your description that the file you restored was corrupt
