MacOS Homebrew install did not work.
MacOS Homebrew install did not work.
I tried installing Minetest via homebrew, and it seemed to have installed, but I cannot find it anywhere on my computer. What did I do wrong?
Re: MacOS Homebrew install did not work.
Open Terminal.app and run
It used to be the case that the MT app showed up in Launchpad (after running "brew linkapps"), but I think this funtionality has been removed in Homebrew unfortunately...
Code: Select all
open /usr/local/Cellar/minetest/0.4.17.1/minetest.app
Re: MacOS Homebrew install did not work.
The Minetest client launches, but it shows up with nothing displayed in the window. Just blank.
EDIT: Nevermind, maximizing the screen fixed the problem. One last question. Is it possible to copy the app and put it on a thumb drive, then move it to another computer? I want to put Minetest on another computer without having to go through the trouble of installing Homebrew and X11.

Re: MacOS Homebrew install did not work.
It depends on whether the app needs any outside libraries from /usr/local/ or if it is fully self-contained. I guess you can try and if it does not work, download one of Neoascetic's builds, they should have no Homebrew dependencies for sure.

Homebrew builds should be portable, yup. I always zip it before migrating it.

Okay, thanks. I'll try seeing if it will work.
