Setting a password for a server (SOLVED)

by jeremyericson » Fri Aug 30, 2019 15:39

Hey, a couple of servers I've joined have passwords like when I join it makes me type a password. how can I do that to my own server so while it's in development I can let other people from around the world that (have) the password can join but people without the password cant?

https://github.com/minetest/minetest/bl ... 1233-L1235
Players can change their password using the Pause Menu's "Change password" dialogue.

Either add this setting manually to your minetest.conf or use the Advanced Settings GUI (if available).
PS: Please add [Solved] in front of your main post title if this answered your question.

Ok, so I know how to change my password, but how do I give the whole server a password like any player that joins as any account has to put in a certain password first?

The whole server will have a single password that lets anyone join who know it. Per-player server passwords are not possible.
