I want to dig more slowly (creative mode)

The speed for digging in creative mode is very fast. I accidentally dig blocks. Is it possible to dig more slowly? I looked for help on Google and github, but the answers I found didn't work. They suggested that I edit the file "minetest_games \ mods \ creative \ init.lua", but every time I edit it, it goes back to the original settings when I quit the game. The settings do not work.
