I'm experiencing low FPS on Minetest on a fairly decent computer that has no issue running Minecraft with ultra shaders. The game seems locked 35 FPS most of the time but sometimes it seems to increase with no observable cause. I've tried setting the render distance to a minimum with no mods and even then the FPS remain locked at 35. How do I make it run at at least 60 FPS?

Re: Low FPS
somethings here
sure you have right actual working driver ?
Even with the GTX 960 I have 60 and was able to do 120 fps
check mtclient, settings, advanced, search fps, check entry at maximum (should be 60)

Re: Low FPS
check CPU and GPU usage as also both RAM,
check older version of mtc, as 5.2.0, 5.3.0 and 5.4.0
make a GPU test, ranking or whatever ... verify that other games might have more
and at 5.4.1 settings => restore defaults

Re: Low FPS
After lots of messing around I managed to build a Windows build that runs on the newer, more modern GLES2 driver.
It's not clear if this would fix any performance issues but legacy baggage in rendering is something I've suspected before. Would be nice if you could give it a try.
You can download it here: minetest-5.5.0-52c0384-gles-win64.zip

Re: Low FPS
5.5 Minetest is faster for the graphics.
Re: Low FPS
This build is great though the 34 FPS is just the old FPS bug. The 70% CPU usage also happened with me even with this build but this only happened to me once. This also occurred with other games not just Minetest so this is just a Windows bug or just the device not functioning well.

Re: Low FPS
to find out if its windows or the device try using a Linux live usb with minetest installed (live usbs just run a operating systems and should not install it unless you want too if the problem remains it is hardware if it goes away (therefore is windows search for the installer tool (available on most ubuntu base live usbs ) and just install Linux (make sure to backup your files bevore ) and use playonlinux to run windows applications if neededmieu12 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 08:49This build is great though the 34 FPS is just the old FPS bug. Re: Low FPS
Tested using another device (with Windows and also ran into this bug) This is a Windows bug. I think.
