Locate your "minetest.conf" file and rename it so that Minetest cannot find it. Create a new world afterwards using the Minetest default settings. If that results in a perfectly fine world, edit your renamed "minetest.conf" file and remove the settings "mg_flags" and any setting name that ends with "_spflags". Then rename it back to "minetest.conf" (remove the newly generated one) and start Minetest using this fresh configuration.
To fix existing worlds, open "map_meta.txt" within your world's directory and change the value inside the "mg_flags" setting from "nobiomes" to "biomes". This won't fix wrong generated map areas, but if you teleport to a distant location, the map will generate properly.
