In Linux OK, but in Windows a lot of FPS lost!
Linux: 60 FPS more or less stable.
Windows: DevTest, default confs: 34 FPS
Be aware, developers, you could use Linux but try Windows.
I miss DirectX9. OpenGL in Windows is very outdated. MIntest should take care of Windows users. Please, change Irlitch!
Best regards.

Re: Minetest 5.5-dev severe LOW FPS!
DirectX9 is very outdated - it was released in 2002 and stopped being developed in 2008. OpenGL is still being maintained
It's infeasible for us to keep support for multiple rendering backends. OpenGL (ES) is cross platform and is supported by a wide range of platforms

Re: Minetest 5.5-dev severe LOW FPS!
I've updated my graphics drivers and now I get 50 fps stable (monitor limit?)
My thinkings:
- Minetest is FOSS so is intended to work in Linux primarily.
- Minetest "flows" better in Linux. This is OK because I am a Linux user!
- Irlitch is very outdated.
- It is mandatory to replace Irlitch! It is an old unfashioned engine. Even if the moving is worst, improvements after changing. Irlitch is not coolz.
