minetestserver can no longer create worlds.

by Megaf » Post

Hi all, till a couple of weeks ago I could use minetest server in a clean install to create a world, where I would just download the latest source code, compile it, configure the minetest.conf and then run minetest server and it would create a new world if non was selected. Following what actually happens now.
+ Spoiler

Code: Select all

megaf@Debian6:~/minetest/minetest-minetest-54dbd78/bin$ ./minetestserver
21:45:18: ERROR[main]: ERROR: An unhandled exception occurred: Cannot open database file

In thread f70a5910:
/home/megaf/minetest/minetest-minetest-54dbd78/src/main.cpp:1860: int main(int, char**): Assertion '0' failed.

Any comment on that? Is that a bug?

EDIT2
Just a copy and paste of myself from IRC.
Megaf wrote: <Megaf>I know that default behavior is to get the old rollback file and ask to convert it
<Megaf> Not minetetest server can no longer find that file, so it will crash
<Megaf> kahrl, So I think an "if" should be put to just follow the server creation if no old rollback file is found

The workaround I found is creating a folder named world and subfolder worlds then creating an empty file called rollback.txt
