Greetings everyone ! My name's Dogers . Yesterday , I was browsing the Ubuntu.fr game repository when I found Minetest (http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/minetestc55) . I really like this project or more exactly its goal . That's why I want to give my help by contributing to this project .

Since the game has no sound , I want help to solve it ! I am compositor , voice actor and I can also make Sound FX , textures and I know a little about Blender 3D .

So , this is a little overview of what I can do for Minetest (direct links) :

https://sites.google.com/site/dttdogers ... ects=0&d=1

or if the first link doesn't work for everyone :

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q72YS1IH

This is an example of ambient music I can make for Minetest .

Tell me if you like ;) (and by the way , sorry for my possible language mistakes) !

Making animation and sound is the great part to make minetest playable.

Very nice piece. Hope this makes sense, but it seems a bit to "noisy" for ambient music. Not loudness but it seems like when the bells come in, it doesn't seem very ambient.

Love the track though, I'll have it in my music folder ;p

Yeah , I guess you're right . Tomorrow I think I will start to write another one , in a more "ambient style" .

Nice song! How did you write it? zynaddsubfx? rosegarden?

I use Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) and MuseScore (http://musescore.org/) , this is like Rosegarden , but I prefer the GUI of MuseScore :) .

I've just finished my new music . This one , could be perfectly match with a big snowy territory :

https://sites.google.com/site/dttdogers ... ects=0&d=1

or this one :

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6YH1P5M3

Note : Before start listening this track , try to imagine a huge northern snowy land , with iceberg and glacier . When you have this in mind , start the music and enjoy .

I hope you will like it !

Sounds pretty good. If I may offer one criticism: you are trying too hard to make the music sound interesting and I think it would fit the game better if you tried to make it more relaxing. Slow it down and make it more sparse and subtle.

Okay , I got it !

Sorry for my absence , i was running test on my new Debian computer .

So , here is my new music :

or

I have continued in the way of a more classic and "ambient" music .

Tell me if you like !

I also thought of doing some textures for the game. I have a large collection of public domain sounds, they may be useful too.
But if we want to get attention we should move this thread to the development section ;)

How , can I move this thread if I’m not a moderator ?

Just ask a moderator to move the thread ;)

I have made a new one , but this one is in a bit different style , this is something more "silent" :

or

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZETXXX5V

I don't know what I will do for my next release , maybe an other music , or sound effect or maybe i will try to do some textures .

I started working on new textures, I will upload a preview in a few days. After I'm finished, I will also make a HD-texturepack.
I like most of your music you done for minetest. especially the new one. Suggestion: You should try some forest themed song :)

I'm back ! Sorry for my absence , my motherboard has burnt while I was making sounds-FX .

For my return I've composed a new ambient-music in order to wait for my sounds-FX .

This one is for cave-themed areas . Imagine you are exploring a cave and you just find a huge sink-hole that you just can't see you floor below , and you start to go down ...

or

I hope you will like this one !

The ambients are awesome :D They scared the hell out of me!
But the construct, mining and step-sounds have to be improved, they sound very identically.
However I near future I will upload some free to use sounds, too (mainly battle and inventory sounds).
I also will upload a 16px texturepack.

P.S.: Under which license you released the sounds and music? Can I use it for other games and videos, too?

All my musics and sounds on this topic are released under GNU-GPLv3 License , so do what you want with these sounds :) !

Thank you very much Dogers :D
As promised I uploaded also some free to use Sounds (CC0)
EDIT: Updated! Added more step/building sounds.
