Hi! There's a PR to add a Windows installer to Minetest, however most devs aren't on Windows so can't test. I'd like Windows users to try out the installer. You should make sure that it can find Minetest Game, the changes you make to worlds are saved when you restart, and that you can install and use mods.

Re: Help test new installer for Windows
So, the following should be tested:
1) New Installation
- does it work
- does it find minetest_game
2) Re-Installation
- does it work
- does it find minetest_game
- do "old" worlds still work
or is there anything else to it?

The installer has about 100 megabyte data!
The installer-tool for windiws was a free licence and i uploaded it on my personal blog...
The old blog with the installer does not exist anymore!

btw: a great idee anyway!

Re: Help test new installer for Windows
Not sure if this test is valuable, as it is for XP 64bit.
New install worked, changed the install path to c:\games\minetest-1. Did not find any of the versions installed in c:\games\.
Ran installer again, it found the first install.
Deleted doc folder, ran installer and selected repair, doc folder repaired.
Deleted doc folder, ran installer and selected change, added minimal. It added minimal and doc folder.
Uninstall also worked, didn't leave any files or registry entries.

thanx 4 your hard work.
Re: Help test new installer for Windows
works for me too win10
deleted the bin and fonts folder, and repaired it - restored
deleted lua51.dll from bin folder and repaired it - restored
installer > uninstall - worked, only installed files removed
installer > change > remove - worked too
it reads mods, games, worlds etc from AppData\Roaming\Minetest
games also from Program Files\Minetest
i would like to see a prompt box before it unstalls, eg do you really want to unistall...
and ask if the user want to keep the user files
in windows you can find the AppData\Roaming\Minetest folder by type %appdata%\Minetest as a directory / adress :)
