I like how the Earth can be seen from only the lower part of space.

I recommend the spacecraft mod for reaching space. Meshnode vehicles are somewhat slow.
Currently working on new mods.

That mod depends on vehicles, which is fine. I don't use the vehicles mod on my server and don't really plan to at the moment, so I went searching for a flying saucer mod that worked well. I came across this one:

The other ufo mod I found is a bit glitchy and tends to freeze and get stuck too much. Although, I did like the way it used ores to charge the UFO. I'd had preferred that system but the implementation of the UFO's movement glitches up too much.

a small update, the mod maybe works a bit faster, but will not mess with marssurvive, and doesn't contain old callbacks.

use minetest 4.13 for this mod as i doubt it supports 5.*

I forked the repo and fixed those two problems. The nyancat mod https://content.minetest.net/packages/r ... y/nyancat/ is now a dependency, though.

Edit: the changes were added to the original repo https://github.com/AiTechEye/space, so there is no longer any need to use mine.
