i'm working on it, it should not be that hard... but idk how to make it ;)

this mod has went far farther (fartherly far farther than far far far far(fadet) farther fartherly) than what i first thought. ANd it was supposed to be a proof of concept :D amazing! and thank you tadeizk (one day i will learn to write it... one day...!) for the code! nothing could have been possible without you and the minetest community menbers! thank you all!

I think you have made changes in your development branch on your own computer without pushing them publicly. If you really want help don't do that -- I made a pull request, but it is probably going to be against an older version of mila than the one you have on your repo.

Much work still to be done. For now, the sheep sinks like a brick in the water :-p

In the feature list, you wrote that mobs can climb nodes, do you just mean stepheight? or do you mean they can move around on vertical surfaces?

Stepheight, D00Med - scaling walls would be an interesting feat.... like, if they could take advantage of shift-jumping too :-p

Agreed its more of a defacto ability of entities with a velocity..... or at the very least, i do not remember coding anything stepheight-specific :-P

Sadly nothing in the code for climbing ladders, mila is a very simple movement api at the moment.

Honestly, unless someone else steps in to help, I don't think mila is going to move fast... I'm pretty happy fiddling with mobs_redo at the moment hence my preference adjusting things there than plying time into coding a mobs engine from scratch, even though I am getting to learn some extra vagueries on that front...

Added a new parameter to prevent mobs overhaul, the mila.maxhandled setting, which allows you to set the absolute limit of mila entities ACTIVE. (sorry does not count projectiles as there lifespan is short. It's still wip.) When limit is reached, mobs stop spawning and eggs don't spawn anything but are consumed. Thanks to taidezk work on milastep, is it possible to reach 35-40 fps with 50 active and fully fonctionnal entities. I'm still improving code stability.

and it works pretty well, because, before it, when we passed 100 entities on a chunk, terribly slow fps and drawtime paralysing the game. Now you can't have more than 50 entities, and when you use /mila_clean command (now requires the 'server' privilege) a couter shows you how many entities have been deleted. I'm making creeper like mobs! however, even if i use dependicies on tnt, the functions are local so i can't use them on my mod. Seems like i will have to register my own explosive. Maybe it will be an instantly exploding node :) thanks for being interested in this project. Also, arrow entities can be 3d, and can have many parameters, because they registered by the same function as other entities. You just need to put status = "arrow". I'll, in the future, pack the bomber (if working) and arrow code, to make fireballs. I'm open for animation code samples, it seems more complicated than i thought, same for sounds.

yes but i modified it... just for mila, sorry if it's a bit a mess.

ADDED 0.9 update, with fireballs and my new dungeon master which shoots 3d lava balls! DANGEROUS!
mob.lua is now inclued to mila, so you don't have to download another mob to get entity! enjoy!

next things todo:
  • make mob swim
  • make them do sounds (probably easier than what i thought)
  • make working animation
  • add some polish to the movement and the overall look
  • add better parameters for better mod use
