Military Vehicles

This is a mod for Minetest which should add military vehicles.
For now there's only a (not completed) tank and a (less completed) truck.

The mod is very WIP.
Yes, its normal, that the wheels egg, its not so easy for a normal player when he builds the tank to stick everything together rightly.
  • tank
    • spawn with the constructor node
    • right click{with mouse} to sit into
    • up{w} to drive forwards
    • down{s}to drive backwards
    • right{d} to turn right
    • left{a} to turn left
    • jump{space} to shoot
    • look{with mouse} to turn the cannon barrel
    • hold sneak{shift} to look around without moving the cannon barrel
    • drive against a node to climb onto it
  • truck
    • spawn with the constructor node
    • right click{with mouse} to sit into
    • up{w} to accelerate forwards
    • down{s} to accelerate backwards
    • right{d} to steer right
    • left{a} to steer left
    • drive against a node to climb onto it
  • tank
    • it can drive
    • it can turn
    • it smokes (exhaust)
    • it can jump it can climb up hills
    • it can shoot
  • truck
    • it can accelerate unlimited
    • it is steerable
    • it drifts on steering

Download newest Download for 0.4.15 How to install a mod?

Mod dependencies:
stuff from minetest_game
  • make exhaust attached
  • get better sound for the tank get more sounds for different things
  • (get a better texture for the tank)
  • make the turn of the top part of the tank
  • make the tank shoot
  • make a way to build the tank
  • give the tank armor <- Did I mean ammo?
  • make the tank use fuel and munition
  • make the truck better
  • make other vehicles:
    • helicopter
    • submarine
    • ship (large and small)
    • plane
    • big missile truck
    • more

  • player model disappears when tank gets destroyed (should be fixed when on_death works)

  • MIT (Expat) for code.
  • CC licenses for media.

Have u seen my army_enhanced modpack? (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15443)
Maybe we can merge it. There are no vehicles but some army weapons (machine gun 25 shots per second).
Or is that a bad Idea?

@juli: its no bad idea, but wait with merging, the tank is not useful in battle at the moment

no, i only looked at the boat mod a bit at first, but i never copied it. it was no big help

i think, at next there will come a shooting mechanism, i would need some feedback, what would be nice here. for example simple dungeon master shot or using some stuff from other mods like shooting or something completely self created. note that i will change that maybe afterwards to make it nicer.

btw i tried to make decals but failed, more than one texture doesnt work it seems :|

if someone got ideas or problems please tell them to me here on forum or at github with an issue
