Yes you are right. Changing the character's skin is applied to the hand inverted. A little bug I'm trying to fix :D

Unfortunately no. Look at my screenshots I've previously published on this discussion. This mod has 2 main bugs:

1 - Changing the skin to your character also the 3D hand applies the skin but reverses the image (appears overturned on the hand).

2 - Right-clicking on the doors, the hand moves but does not open the doors and does not interact with the objects.

When bugs are fixed, this mode will be perfect! Very nice I like it so much.

when i use the newhand mod in minetest 0.4.16 it closes directly is this normal?

mine closes without message and directly but when I use it in minetest 0.4.15 it works perfectly except that lag too much so that I can play it (sorry for bad english)

Someone said something about that the new version breaks changing the player's hand.

I have tested this in the latest dev version, it doesn't seem to be broken.

Could someone explain to me how this allows custom animations? It's just a meshnode... I don't see how it can be animated any other way than it already is...
