Ok, I've got a new theme basically done. It's called Undersea, and it's the best theme I've made yet, in my opinion. It's been made totally from scratch, although inspired in part by the Embedded theme for Windows XP. Once I'm totally finished, I'm going to make other color schemes, likely silver, green, plum, and gold/yellow, and maybe a few others, all with similar but different desktop backgrounds.

Unfortunately, it can't be implemented into the laptop mod yet because Minetest doesn't support image elements for everything, and it also doesn't have pressed or hover images for anything at all (See viewtopic.php?f=5&t=19485). Another problem is that the laptop mod doesn't have a forward button, only a back button. Once these are fixed, I'm going to give the laptop mod a huge overhaul in looks.

Here's a preview of the Undersea theme.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I'm still working on this mod. I'm going to move on to icons for this theme next.

What should the forward button do?
Which RL-OS does have a forward button in window manager?

Btw. The Undersea theme looks great!

Plus Windows 10, XP, Vista, Google Chrome, IE, Microsoft Edge, and so on. There is a back button to go back a screen, but you should also be able to go forward again.

It is an application button in internet browser. Nothing for all apps.
The currently implemented "Back" button is like in android "back" hardware button, there is an view call stack started from launcher and using the back button the previous screen from stack is called again. Exit is clear stack and go directly to launcher. Forward is not so easy because a "Resend data to the next view" needs to be implemented. :-/

Already requested ;-) https://github.com/Gerold55/minetest-laptop/issues/80
The laptops/computers are all transportable without data loss, so you can just dig them, transport and place for usage

Counted the version up to 0.36

Thanks to @Grizzly Adam for nostalgia-filled CS-BOS and Shell launcher themes! Both is merged to the 0.36 too!

Laptop does support multiple OS-Versions for now.

It is still a lot to do to get a "minetest" laptop app and then install the laptop mod in this app

Maybe some templates to help get people started. Lay out the ground work of a certain type of app, put it some search&replace instructions, and insert main program here, specify formspec here type comments to get people started on the right track.

They are enough templates.

Getting started working on apps the "Stickynote" and "Calculator" are good templates. But lua-skills required to work on apps.

An "Deskop"/"Launcher"/"OS-UI"/"Shell" is a special app type, called launcher, good template is still the default launcher in launcher_app.lua. How to reuse functionality is shown in "shell-os_app.lua"

Themes: Any theme is a good template. Basic lua-skills are enough to set the key = value in the lua table. Full list of available attributes is in themes.lua at beginning (Freedom-Theme), or in API-Documentation

The "nodes.lua" is full with examples how new hardware can be added. Basic lua knowledge is enough to fill the laptop.register_hardware() call.

There is an API documentation which all attributes could be set on definition and used on runtime in apps.

The framework was developed "on demand". So if still something missed, but you have a use-case, feel free to add new things to framework or open an issue on github for them.

As I know there are not "App-Packs" at the time, all available apps are provided with this mod.

We use the Github "Issues" for ideas what could be done at the next. There is no roadmap, each developer can pick up a task and work on them. It is just development for fun.

As I wrote the framework I support the developers how the framework should be used in right way, and enhance the framework if needed.

It was a lot of fun for me on last changes wave to work with Grizzly Adam on the CS-BOS, to enhance the framework to get his visions possible

Mods like homedecor_modpack, computer_deco, ma_pops_furniture, and scifi_nodes have computers in them too. It would be great if there was an addon that gave them the same basic functions as the ones in laptop.

How about an app that can be used to create simple building blueprints that can be saved and printed? Lots of people would dig that.

New version appears! Nothing new, but a lot of laptop themes related optimizations, with attention to detail!

The monochrome themes Amber and Green are fully monochrome now

Tables and Multiline areas are themed now

Thanks again to Grizzly-Adam for great work! (and a small bit to me ;-)

Bell--- you give me too much credit, you did the backbone code I mostly made pretty pictures.

We also skinned some of the apps, most notably mail, to make them a bit easier on the eye. Also, really loving the new tetris blocks!
