[Mod] Early Minetest Nodes [legacy_items]

by v-rob » Wed Jun 28, 2017 00:58

After reminiscing about Minetest C-55, I came up with this mod adding those. They are:

Iron Apple: This apple restores all of your heath.

2d (Signlike) signs: These are the signs that are not 3D. They float 1/16 of a node from the surface.

2d (Torchlike) torches: These torches are the old torchlike, meaning that they are not the new mesh nodes found in Minetest 0.4.15 and above.

Gates: These are nodes that, when opened like a door, turn plantlike. The screenshot shows what I mean. These are good for windows because when they're opened, they look like they have shutters. Also, they are useful for 4-way doors.

Crafting:

Signs and torches are default crafting

I am open to suggestions for other legacy items.

Good idea with those plantlike doors/window shutters. It's also good to know that there's a mod to restore the old look when needed. New worlds can sometimes be very diffrent from the old ones due to all those changes.
A list of my mods can be found here.

I would like to have the old door, that can only be walked through in one state.
Do not call me -minetest.
Call me DS or DS-minetest.
I am German, so you don't have to pm me English if you are also German.
The background is a lie.

Do you mean that the door is closed, but you can walk through it?

No, I mean you can walk through the whole open door but through no part of the closed one.

Sorry, I don't understand. That sounds like the normal door to me.

No, the current door has a collision box that is changed on rightclick. The old was only walkable in open state and the collision box in closed state was two full nodes.

Ah! Now I understand.

I'll do that. At the moment, I'm making it so that doors are punched to open, so I'll incorporate it while I'm at it.

Sorry. I call things by their mod names. I'll change that.
