Re: [mod] Bible Bot [mt_biblebot]
If I remember right, the original BibleBot was saying offensive sentences and phrases not bible texts. I may be wrong though

Re: [mod] Bible Bot [mt_biblebot]
Have not tested the Bible Bot mod but thought about using NPC Mobs and Simple Dialogs but need more modifying to formspecs to display the bible and modify txt files to add chapters instead of alot of scrolling.
Re: [mod] Bible Bot [mt_biblebot]
Added Chapters with option to go back to Intro.
Uploaded txt file just copy and past into NPC Dialog box save then save and test.

Re: [mod] Bible Bot [mt_biblebot]
Ok, having one bot to display the whole bible is complex to say the least.
So im thinking having each NPC display the bible they authored or pinned, like John Bible Bot Book of John or Luke Bible Bot Book of Acts.
In theory if the NPC's bible characters bots had their own dialogs and roaming around world all you would need to do is teleport to them.
@maikerumine
The mt_biblebot using random quotes and searches of text is cool, it is still working on v5.7, but only random no direct search like John,1,1

Re: [mod] Bible Bot [mt_biblebot]
- Not going to lie, I thought this was going to be a copy of the Biblebot from 2b2t which just says stupid stuff including blasphemies, so I'm relieved to see it's legit.
- As good as the KJV is as it has stood the test of time, you should be aware there is a more modern freely-redistributable (public domain) translation called the "World English Bible" (worldenglish.bible), made available in various formats. The WEB should be easier to understand since it doesn't use archaic words like "ye", "thine", "publican", "unto", "begat" and so on.

Yeah im using the KJV for testing but might switch to the American KJV for a language update, just not too sure how close the WEB text is to the Textus Receptus and Traditional Text and Majority Text and all the variations of same family of manuscripts or if its even in the same family. But yeah i agree that languages do go out of date making it hard to understand and need to be updated, the same issues exist in my second and third languages but the problem is instead of updating the language scholars use manuscripts like Dead Sea Scrolls or Septuagint and change the text altogether without telling anyone.Blockhead wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 02:07

All im doing is making some simple_dialog bible txt templates to be used for NPC's but anyone can change the txt to whatever bible they wish, i would do it for my third language tsalagi but no unicode support that i know of.
I like the idea because one could create bible themed or learning games using actual authors of the bible like the apostles as NPC's.
