The TARDIS is a transdimensional ship which allows you to travel the world in style!

Download Github

Instructions:
Rename the folder to tardis, and give yourself a tardis:tardis. Place anywhere in the world, right click to enter. Right click the Time-Space Throttle to dematerialize, and set the navigational data by right clicking the panel next to it. You will not be able to exit while moving.

WARNING: This mod is in alpha; things will change, hearts will be broken, and worlds may burn.
Do not use on long-term worlds if you plan on updating.

Really nice work, I love the idea :)

I tried teleporting around, it went nice, found some deserts and plains. Though I seem to have done something wrong and I couldn't exit the TARDIS. It was repeating the message "Tardis is in the vortex...", but I have had placed the coords into the console. And have pulled the lever.
Yes, i have tried to teleport TARDIS into itself, caused the same message (you thought of that too :P), and that might have been the cause. Anyways, its alpha version, so good luck with future modding! :)

I remember that being a thing, but I've on;y ever been able to reproduce it once. I'll see if I can fix it.

Updated the texture, looks much better now :D

Oh nice! This mod reminds me on the old Doctor Who Mod.

benrob0329 the reason door is locked is because the tardis has not materialized yet. The sounds do not correspond to the actual tardis state. You might want to put some kind of indicator so user knows when the tardis has materialized at the destination. What I found is the sound ends 17 seconds before the the actually materializes. One problem I have found is the lever. It should be made indestructible like the tardis. One feature I would like to see is a formspec that allows you to save the coordinates of where you been. Some what like the travelnet. That would make this a perfect mod IMHO. Other then the two problems this will be a great addition mod for Minetest.

The sound lines up with the exterior sequence, I'll have to see why the interior doesn't quite line up. The TARDIS has locked strangely, but I have yet to know why. I also thought of the formspec, its on the list for the next update, along with rewriting the table to use mod storage.

Well the thing I have found, once the sound ends while in the tardis you have to wait about 5 seconds for the door to unlock. I think all you would need to shorten up the time for door unlock and that should cure that problem. Not a big deal but an indicator that the door is unlocked would be great. Another thing I found out, when you exit the tardis and look back the tardis is still materializing and materializes fully 17 seconds later. Kind of weird but other then that the mod works really good. Although I wish there was a view port to look out of and see where you are. I messed up on some navigational data and fell into a sea after leaving the tardis LOL.

Big Update! (Also very breaking, use on a fresh world)

Basically, I fixed things, made everything use mod storage, improved things in general (like adding default values to the navigation formspec) and it was a huge commit that left almost no stone unturned.
