[Mod] Christmas Decor [christmas_decor] [1.0]

'Tis the season!
And I have made a mod :D
Christmas Decor

This mod adds:
  • Stocking*
  • Christmas Lights (and craftitems)
    • White
    • Multicolor
    • Icicle (white)
    • Bulb (multicolor)
    • Pane version of above
  • Garland
  • Garland with lights
  • Gingerbread Cookies (and craftitems)
  • Plate of cookies (decorational)
  • Glass of milk (decorational)
  • Candycane (edible)
  • Santa Claus mob (non-moving)
  • Reindeer mob (non-moving, has animations)
  • Santa hat (wearable)
  • Candycane (placeable - noncraftable)
  • Frosting nodes (noncraftable)
  • Candycane nodes (noncraftable)
  • Mistletoe
*Stockings are pretty cool. They will automatically fill once Christmas arrives, or at least that is the idea. Extensive testing has supposedly confirmed this, but we'll see what happens :P The stocking by default is set to fill with 200 gold ingots, 20 candycanes, and a full set of mese tools. These can be edited on lines 42-53 of stocking.lua. Each player is also only allowed to place one stocking, and there is bunches of stuff in place to make sure other players can't steal from stockings and can't dig other people's, etc...

Wow, this Christmas stuff locks great!
But why don't you make soft dependencies, so that you don't have to use all this mods?
Can your read this?

I do think that crafting recipes are just a soft dependency, a mod can work without the materials. Besides, you can make substitutions.

Most larger servers nowadays have most of those mods already, they are almost essentials.

Could you help me out with my subgame, Merry-Hollies? It's a christmas based subgame with a santa claus elves and reindeer. Maikermine is helping out with making those models for me.

As for the complaints about dependencies, I'm just as baffled as you. Except for homedecor, all the other mods you've listed are pretty standard, even for a minimalist server like my own.

The mod is not going to be enabled to my world. I should all the dependencies and also i renamed the folder to "christmas_decor".

Hmm. It's rather parcels that ought to show up and/or fill on Christmas Eve. Stockings remind me more of the boots children put in front of their door at the night before December the 6th (Nikolaus day) and which turn out to be filled with sweets on Nikolaus day in the morning.

Perhaps it'a an American thing, but here both presents show up and stockings are filled come Christmas morning. Besides, the presents appearing under a tree is much harder to do.

That's true. Putting parcels into the world won't be easy. Maybe a special wrapped parcel that's placed the same way as the sock (=one per player) might do.

While you are correct, it is simple to get it into the world and have an inventory (the stocking has an inventory), there are other complications that I won't go into detail on for now.

The Santa mob doesn't move or go anywhere.. it's just a placeable mob, same as the reindeer. And I already know this, there are still complications that again, I am not going to go over right now.

They aren't supposed to move. If I wanted them to walk around they would.
