[Mod] Holostorage: Mass Storage in Minetest [holostorage]

by IcyDiamond » Sun Apr 08, 2018 13:48

Image

This mod adds devices into the game that allow you to build a mass storage system with ease. It is an attempt at re-creating the Minecraft mod Refined Storage in Minetest. I can't promise that this will ever be completed, but we'll see. Help is always welcome.

Currently, it is geared towards and developed in Minetest 0.5.0+, backports are not planned right now.

Caution! This mod is in development and it has bugs and is potentially inefficient. Do not use it in a world you care about just yet, as you might lose items or it might crash your game!

Awesome! Make sure you're keeping it up to date though, because there are bound to be some critical bug fixes.

Mods like these take center stage in minecraft modding, allowing powerful storage management. Minetest needs those analogue mods as well.

It is great to see someone else creating a storage mod, but it takes a long time to put items into/take items from the storage which is annoying, so I will probably stick on my Storage Interface but I watch the progression of this mod.

Maybe you can work together with microexpansion.

What do you mean by that? It's pretty much instant to me

My computer is probably too bad or I shouldn't put 6 64k into the disc drive.

Hmm, I guess so. They're not all that efficient at the moment. I just use the 1Ks. But you could also just attach external storage buses to chests.

I have now rewritten the way the items in disks are stored. It might be faster or it might fail entirely. I don't know yet, it just needs testing :P

can several drive casings(the blocks that hold the drives) be connected to get more storage, or is 6 64k the max per machine?
also great mod its nice to have choices when it comes to mass storage

Yes, you can use multiple disk drives.
