Brewing Mod : Put magic on Minetest!

For 4.0.17 and up (development 5.0 version too)

Magic Items

Image

-Magic Gem -> Magic Crystal -> 3xMagic Crystals Fragments -> [Cooking] Magic Dust (the ignitor for potions)

-Magic Tools: Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, Hoe & Sword.

:: Magic Armor: Requires 3d_armor mod to work. [optional]

    -Helmet, Chestplate, Leggins and Boots.
    -Amulets (they can be used in conjuction with the default armor set, but only one at the same time):
      -Heart Amulet: Increase max hp by 5 when equiped.
      -Health Amulet: When you put it, the amulet has a power that heals you when you get a damage, this power decreases until the amulet is automatically destroyed.
      -Cross Amulet: Turns you into a invisible man.
      -Blue Star Amulet: Speed up!
:: Cluttering:
    -Block: Slab and stairs.
    -Crystal Ball: It can be used as lit lamp. It invokes Lily the fairy.
    -Ring: To invoke Fairy Lily.
    -Apple
    -Cross
    -Rose Petals, Rosewater, Rose on a vase: for decoration use.
    -Donut Dough, Donut: Food!
    -Heart.
    -Blue Rose, Blue Rose Petals, Blue Dust, Blue Tear Crystal, Blue Gem, Blue Star.


Magic Wands

    -Magic Wand: Plant magic roses (seeds) magically (after prepare the terrain with a hoe).
    -Magic Blue Tear Wand: Freeze players and mobs with Ice Magic, and then you can escape!

Farming/Nature/Herbalism

For v5, v7, valleys, carpathian, flat, fractal mapgens. Not for v6 mapgen. Each plant generation can be disabled individually through the mod config file.

    -Rose: Spread naturally (very rare). Also it can be planted with a magic wand.

    -Lemmon Set: Lemmon Fruit, Lemmon Tree Sapling, Lemmon Tree Wood, Lemonade, Lemmon Pie, Stairs, Slab.
      Cork: Obtained from a Lemmon Tree.
      Little Razor: To cut (right-click) the cork from the Lemmon Tree.

      Plants:

        These plants are rare in order to get them being more challenging.

        -Fire Flower: Desert Biome. Rare. It produces Fire Essence.
        -Gerbera Daisy: Grassland & Deciduous Forest. Rare. It produces Gerbera Oil.
        -Yellow Bell: Grassland & Coniferous_forest. Rare.
        -Saffron Crocus: Grassland. Rare. It produces Saffron Bag.
        -Lucky Club: Grassland & Deciduous Forest. Very rare.
        -Orange Mycena: Coniferous Forest. Rare.
        -Cortinarius Violaceus: Coniferous Forest. Rare. It produces Cortinarius Poison.
        -Artic Carrot: Cold Desert. Rare
        -Mint: Deciduous Forest Coast. Rare. Its leaves produce Mint Juice.
        -Creosote Bush: Desert Coast. Rare.
      Items:
        -Vial (empty)
        -Crystal Jar (empty)
      Products:
        -Gerbera Oil
        -Fire Essence
        -Saffron Bag
        -Cortinarius Poison
        -Mint Juice

    ::Food

      - Sugarcane: Jungle Forest. Rare.
      - Sugar: From Papyrus or Sugarcane. Compatible with Farming_redo and Crops mods.
      - Fay Cake.
      - Nymph Salad.
      - Unbaked Clay Bowl and Clay Bowl. Compatible with Farming_redo and Food mods.


    ::Fairies Requires Mobs Redo mod to work. [optional]

    Lily

    She is invoked by right-clicking on a Crystal Ball.

      - The player who invokes Lily owns her, and she will be linked to that concrete Crystal Ball and owner.
      - Right-clicking again in her Crystal Ball only by her owner, this will return Lily inside her Crystal Ball. (and the ownership will be lost)
      - Lily is inmortal, but if she "die", she will come back to her Crystal Ball (and the ownership will be lost).
      - When her Crystal Ball is destroyed (by her owner or another player), Lily disappears and the ownership.
      -When she is killed, it has a chance of drops her wings.
      -You can give her orders by right-click.
      -Call Lily with the Magic Ring.
      -Lily's health can be configured thru the mod config file.
      -Lily can recover health with magic Donuts (right-click wielding a donut).
      -Lily has an inventory (safe even on game restarts): You can use it to store things. If Lily die, her items will be dropped. Be care: Your items would preserved only if you owns Lily, this is, invoked thru a Crystall Ball not thru an egg.

Aquatic World

Decos: Pearl Oyster (Pearl inside) and Anemon. Only for 5.0 version.
Food: Siren's soup.

Sirens

Don't be enchanted by their beauty and siren song, they are ruthless beings.

    They can be captured and tamed (dangerous!). Get one and make an aquarium for her!
    They like anemons.

Drops: Anemon, Pearl, Turtle Shell.

Black Pearl Anemon

They defend their treasure till death.

Magic Cauldron

7 Magic Crystals = Magic Cauldron

The potions cannot be brewed on the standard way (default crafting table). But with the cauldron is more practical and cool.

Potions
Image

- 7 magic effects: Speed, Anti-Gravity, Jumping, One Use Health, Health, One Use Air and Air.
- Plus 3 levels of positive effects in potions and 3 negative effects.
- 42 total potions.

The potions are made with a base of Magic Dust + Water Bucket + Vessel plus 4 ingredients (shaped).

Configuration of the mod

Change the file brewing.conf

Minetest default game: default, dye, vessels, flowers, tnt, farming, stairs
Optional: 3d_armor, mobs

::WIP (Todo)::

- Fine tune of the ore rarity and tools.
- The potions definitions (what ingredients) and name of the 42 potions.
- More cluttering.

Each water bucket produces 5 potions (so you need 5 flasks to craft at least!!!).

What if you added a super expensive potion that increases a player's max HP by ?
What is SCP-055 again? I forgot.

Read the api.txt file

Spanish [100%]

To translate edit '/locale/template.pot' and change the filename to your desired language (i.e. 'fr.po').

Just 3 health+ potions (by now).

-Inserted the table 'potions' into 'brewing' to avoid conflicts with other mods.
-'credits.txt' file created.
-Corrected the speed of the armor.
-Created a 'speedup' entry in 'brewing.conf' to configure the speed effect of the armor.

WIP: Magic Rose, Magic Petals, fix the Magic Hoe...

v0.1.7
-Magic Rose, Magic Petals and Magic Rosewater.
-The Magic Wand now plants a Magic Rose Seed.
-It appears a magic aura surrounding the player (magic particles) when a potion is drunk.
-Now a river water bucket can be used to prepare the potions too.
-Added the 'One Use Air' lvl+3 potion.
-No more trusted privilege for this mod, now the settings are read with the standard 'Settings' API function.

Sorry, I don't know anything about licenses. I thought giving credit was enough.

I'll try to ask for permission to John Smith Legacy, otherwise I will replace those textures.

I will replace the yanfly textures.

Just give me a little time to do it. :-)

Finally, I've decided to cancel the downloads, until I resolve the texture copyright issues.

I've decided also make two icon sets:

    16x16 default.
    32x32 alternative.

Of course both free to use license.

Sorry for the inconveniences.

Yes you do! Those people obviously don’t understand licensing because at the same time they’ve licensed it Apache License 2.0 which grants you all the rights that you need. You don’t even have to ask them. Go ahead and use it, just keep a copy in case they choose to change that for new updates.

Very likely official. The user John Smith Team is an active and Curse Premium user since four years back.

I think it's not our responsibility to educate them on coherent licensing policy and the fact that they've officially chosen a proper license for the pack grants runs right to use it. I say fork away!

I've investigated a bit.

It's semi-official. The original author is "lost". They (John Smith Legacy) only continued his work.

I guess they get the textures, added new ones for after 2013 Minecraft versions, and changed the license.

I believe I could use the original textures without any problem. The original author disappeared and his original license was freezed.

But:

But if you cannot contact with the author to he changing the license or let me use it? ...???

Never mind, I prefer to make a version with icons that are clearly free. And in addition in 16x16 of the best possible quality, since it is the size of Minetest by default for the textures.

v0.3.0
-Removed 1 second of delay when crafting potions: now faster.
-Fixed bug in Magic Heart Amulet: the hp_max was increased over the current player hp, not hp_max.
-The Magic Health Amulet is now an armor amulet: When you put it, the amulet has a power that heals you when you get a damage, this power decreases until the amulet is automatically destroyed. [3d_armor required]
-Some textures improved.
