[mod] Burnable Diamonds [1.0] [diamonds_burn]

by Hume2 » Wed Feb 20, 2019 17:58

Hello everyone!

This is my tiny mod that makes diamonds burnable. Diamonds, diamond blocks and diamond tools can be now used as a fuel. Diamond blocks now burn endlessly like coal blocks do.

Do diamonds fuel the furnace for a longer time than coal?

(yes)

Strangely enough, diamond hoes don't smelt.
(It doesn't add more realism.)

Yes, diamonds burn a bit longer than coal.

Diamond hoes will be removed in 5.0.0 from MTG, so who cares.

A: Let's say that it adds more realism.

In order to burn a diamond, you have to first light it with a high temperature blowtorch, and in order to propagate the combustion, you need to submerge, or drop it in, a container with liquid oxygen. Otherwise it will not start to, or even finish burning.

So, unless you add a high temperature blowtorch and liquid oxygen, you have decreased the realism.

Other than that it's fine, of course, I don't really care. :)

One does not simply, cook iron ore, in a simple rock furnace, with just a single lump of coal, for 3 seconds, into a perfect ingot...

Well, these cubic furnaces seem to be capable of melting stone, which normally requires far higher temperatures.

*Walking past with a couple of stacks with cobble in the inventory (each 99 cubic meters)* Did anyone say anything? :)
