Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
Looks perfect. I have no idea what's going wrong...
Perhaps some interference through other mods?

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
Doesn't appear so, as best as I can tell. I disabled all other mods except one and tried it-- same problem; and then disabled the one mod I still had enabled (i didn't realize it) and tried again -- same thing.
Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
Looking at the regular Minetest Wiki for carts, it claims I should be able to 'drop' stacks into the standard cart without mods-- this doesn't work either. However, if it were a minetest core issue, I don't see how others aren't affected.
Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
I might try creating a brand new world, and see if it works by itself, no other mods ever added.... if that works, I'll let you know.

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
Does the hopper work as expected, when you drop items on it?

This worked the same as my other game.N0RVLL wrote:I might try creating a brand new world, and see if it works by itself, no other mods ever added.... if that works, I'll let you know.

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
Right, it should also work with standard carts, but standard carts keep losing items in unloaded areas.N0RVLL wrote:Looking at the regular Minetest Wiki for carts, it claims I should be able to 'drop' stacks into the standard cart without mods-- this doesn't work either. Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
Hopper appears to be working as expected -- I can place items either directly into it, or from a chest; and it spits them out when the cart gets there.

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
But does the hopper sucks in dropped items (like the cart should do when it starts)?

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
OK so if I just throw something out of my inventory into the top of the hopper, it then spits it out to the side.

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
OK, so let me check the code. There must be some difference between hopper and cart, how they suck in items.

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
lol.... I'm used to finding 'issues' with the stuff I test at work... this business of finding them in something I do to relax (and spend time with my daughter) is a new one. Thanks Joe!

Works for me. Thanks for looking into it.
Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
Is this the only cart mod that allows transporting items?

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
I don't know, I wasn't interested in that yet. But Minecart is the basis for the cargo carts in the techage mod.

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
I read up on carts in the minetest wiki, and apparently the default carts mod in Minetest Game is supposed to be able to transport items when you drop them in and punch the cart. Doesn't work for me though.
This mod works though since the update. Thanks!

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
Can't seem to make this mechanism to work. The first "sneak + click" ends up getting the minecart and leaving the content/s on the ground.
Is this the expected behavior with the recent update?
Thanks.

Re: [Mod] Minecart [minecart]
Update:
In order to be able to distinguish between your own carts, each Minecart now gets a number.
The cart status can be queried using the chat command "/mycart <num>".
