[game] Apocalypse [1.5]

by kddekadenz » Post

Image

The Minetest earth is getting closer to the sun, making the temperatures rise.
Soon the first trees start to catch fire, dry leaves disappear and the dry gras turns into dirt.
Soon after all the water starts to vanish. Were there was an ocean before, is now hot air.

To survive the apocalpyse you quickly need to gather food sources and wood.
Below y: -10 the stone blocks of most of the heat. You can build your food and tree farm down here.

Scavenge out in the night to hunt for more resources and fight against the monsters!
Can you survive the apocalypse?

How a vanilla server loads with a 1go map in memory ?

It says, dirt turns to grass, isn't that backwards?

+1
Maybe you could make the ''apocalypse'' only happen on-command by someone with ''apocalypse'' privs, so that it can be used to simulate an apocalypse at only the time one decides (of course, most members of a server won't even know it's happening, making it 10x cooler)

I tried this one out. Almost immediately a tree started to burn :-) It looks like taking quiet a time to change the whole landscape, but I assume it's adjustable. More general I think in time changing landscapes are very interesting for gameplay. It makes old resources scarce, but also offers new resources. I like this mod very much, and as Max said, it has a lot off possibilities even (or especially) for servers.

What do you mean with 1go map?

It is comfortable with the default game mode, because it does not add any new items, entities or nodes.

Whoops. Fixed the description.

I possibly could do it, but I'm busy creating a 3D RPG, called Kelgar.

The speed depends on the speed of Minetest.
minetest.conf example wrote:# Length of day/night cycle. 72=20min, 360=4min, 1=24hour, 0=day/night/whatever stays unchanged
time_speed = 96
